what is chicken pox?

Chicken Pox is a highly contagious infection that is caused by a virus named as Varicella Zoster. People suffering from this type of virus usually have blister-like rash in the body as the first symptom. Although, it is not fatal at times, complications can be seen among patients.   •  Breathing difficulty
  •  Painful and swollen blisters

The chicken pox vaccine in India name is varicella vaccine which is a course of two doses. In case of a child, the chicken pox vaccine age is between 12-18 months when the first dose is administered. The second dose is given during 4-6 years of age.

The chicken pox vaccine for adults is also a two-dose course and is administered with a gap of four to eight weeks between the two doses.
